The Top Disasters of the Earth and Effects to Its Inhabitors

The history has a lot to offer in terms of disaster that the earth ever experienced. The bible quoted about the flood for 40 days that washed out every living creature except those who have been inside the Noahs ark. Another diaster was when two cities were burned because of too much immorality. These are just some catastrophes I can remember.

The earth is believed to exist billions of years ago and passed through different eras in which different diasters happened that renewed mankind. There are two kind of diasters: man made and natural catastrophis events.

In my own opinion the greatest man made disaster was done during the World War II when USA naval troops dropped two bombs in Nagasaki and Hiroshima in Japan. Except that the whole city were vanished and destroyed, the effects of nuclear radiation is still affecting the daily lives of Japanese people. Have you seen the movie Hills Have Eyes? If you did then that is an example of its effects. The radiation elicited in such bombing are still mixing up with air. A pregnant mom is worrying what part of her child will be lacking upon birth. Will it be the eyes, the nose, the ears, etc. It is sad to say that yes we stopped the war yet we create a new specie of ugly and fearsome people in the world. They suffered and their sufferings have not been ended yet.

The Hurricane Katrina's revenge

Katrina. Such a nice name right? Yet this kind of name cause the lost of thousand of lives in USA. Starting from a tropical depression it has become a wild and angry hurricane that flows out everything that lives in the city of New Orleens. It killed 1,836 people and damaged $81 billion of properties and livelihoods. It is a natural disaster brought by so much change in the weather condition and formed far away in the Atlantic ocean. This disaster brought trauma and shocked to this improved city.

And, who could forgot the tsunami in Phuket, Thailand on December 26, 2004. Nobody would think that a very nice weather would bring a killing tsunami in the ocean. Killing almost 10, 000 people, the tsunami was an effect of Indian Ocean Tectonic Earthquake. Even I, who was not there has been paranoid of having a good weather and very low tide that may bring tsunami to our place. We are facing the Pacific ocean and I am always checking on the hills if there is any unusual things happening in the ocean.

Lastly, just recent April 9 of this year, Japan again was rattled by 7.1 and 8.9 magnitude intensity earthquake that triggers a tsunami warning. Aside from the physical effects of earth quake the worst thing is that there is a rumored leaking of nuclear radiation from a nuclear plant.

 There are a lot of disasters we can expect in this earth yet have you ever ask your selves why these things happen? Have you contributed something to anger mother earth? Be feared because these diasters may in time happen to you, to your family and loved ones and to everyone you knew about.
