The Top Disasters of the Earth and Effects to Its Inhabitors

The history has a lot to offer in terms of disaster that the earth ever experienced. The bible quoted about the flood for 40 days that washed out every living creature except those who have been inside the Noahs ark. Another diaster was when two cities were burned because of too much immorality. These are just some catastrophes I can remember.

The earth is believed to exist billions of years ago and passed through different eras in which different diasters happened that renewed mankind. There are two kind of diasters: man made and natural catastrophis events.

In my own opinion the greatest man made disaster was done during the World War II when USA naval troops dropped two bombs in Nagasaki and Hiroshima in Japan. Except that the whole city were vanished and destroyed, the effects of nuclear radiation is still affecting the daily lives of Japanese people. Have you seen the movie Hills Have Eyes? If you did then that is an example of its effects. The radiation elicited in such bombing are still mixing up with air. A pregnant mom is worrying what part of her child will be lacking upon birth. Will it be the eyes, the nose, the ears, etc. It is sad to say that yes we stopped the war yet we create a new specie of ugly and fearsome people in the world. They suffered and their sufferings have not been ended yet.

The Hurricane Katrina's revenge

Katrina. Such a nice name right? Yet this kind of name cause the lost of thousand of lives in USA. Starting from a tropical depression it has become a wild and angry hurricane that flows out everything that lives in the city of New Orleens. It killed 1,836 people and damaged $81 billion of properties and livelihoods. It is a natural disaster brought by so much change in the weather condition and formed far away in the Atlantic ocean. This disaster brought trauma and shocked to this improved city.

And, who could forgot the tsunami in Phuket, Thailand on December 26, 2004. Nobody would think that a very nice weather would bring a killing tsunami in the ocean. Killing almost 10, 000 people, the tsunami was an effect of Indian Ocean Tectonic Earthquake. Even I, who was not there has been paranoid of having a good weather and very low tide that may bring tsunami to our place. We are facing the Pacific ocean and I am always checking on the hills if there is any unusual things happening in the ocean.

Lastly, just recent April 9 of this year, Japan again was rattled by 7.1 and 8.9 magnitude intensity earthquake that triggers a tsunami warning. Aside from the physical effects of earth quake the worst thing is that there is a rumored leaking of nuclear radiation from a nuclear plant.

 There are a lot of disasters we can expect in this earth yet have you ever ask your selves why these things happen? Have you contributed something to anger mother earth? Be feared because these diasters may in time happen to you, to your family and loved ones and to everyone you knew about.

The Sun is Getting Near

Oh!It's hot. It burns me.

I'm sweating all over.

Cold water Please.

We complain for the weather being so hot. We complain for the thirst that we feel. We complain that the sun is getting near. We were blinded that the sun is getting near and also because the world has about the end. To compensate this  dilemma of hot weather we are using aircons, electric fans, chillers and other  ventilations. We also drink cold colas, juice or energy drinks. We are adapting and adjusting to the changing climates that we are experiencing.

In reality the sun is not really getting closer. The sun is actually just like humans that gets old. Because it is a star it will come a time that will expand and explode yet much smaller than a supernova. According to Ex VP Al Gore the suns rays or light didn't got hotter it's just that the layer that protects the earth from its rays get smaller and smaller- the cause of climate change.

We used electric fans and aircons to lessen sweat and hot yet we never knew that by using these things we are contributing to the effects of green house.

The sun is not killing us it is us who kill ourselves.

Armageddon: Fear or No Fear

It may sound an old news when we say the end of the world is coming. Yet we still fear it. The prediction made by a religious broadcaster Mr. Harold Camping regarding the final judgment convinced almost every people on Earth that really the Earth has come to its end. However, the truth is it was not just Mr Camping who made the predictions regarding Armageddon or the end of the world.

The end of the world was actually predicted first to happen on November 25, 2002. It was a date extracted by the digit experts when they decoded the phrase in the bible at 1 Thessalonians 5:2-4 saying that Jesus Christ will come like a thief in the night when everybody is calling for peace and destruction”. They used the original Hebrew manuscripts and different translations in order to come up with the date. However, this calculation was proven wrong because we are still alive.

Another basis for the end of the world is the Mayan Calendar. Mayan calendar is a system used by the ancient Maya culture dated 3000 years BC. It has a different kind of time system with different range system: long count of days or short count. According to its long count system the end of 5,126 year era will be on December 21, 2012- a said apocalypse of the Earth. Everybody expects something to happen on this day.

Another prediction was also made by Nostradamus, a famous philosopher and fortune teller. He was the one who predicted the 9/11 bombing. His prediction relates to the pyramid of Giza and the Pharaoh that lies beneath. As you can see the pyramid is a perfect triangle but there is a one point (the eye) where in the rays of the sun passed through and directly strike the body of Rameses I. The rays of the sun are moving from his feet towards the head. When the sun's rays stroke its head, that would be the end of the Earth.

This prediction was agreed by the scientist. If the movement of the sun's rays is moving towards the head that would men that the sun is getting nearer to the earth. Too much closure of the sun to the earth might create a sudden explosion. This was also supported by the planetary motions or the aligning of the planets that happens occasionally.

All of this are predictions only. We may fear it or not. Yet just think that the end of the Earth is tomorrow. Prepare yourself so that whenever it comes you will be saved. Remember that nobody can tell when will the final judgment be.
